  • Manuel Vildasol of Albuquerque, NM, attempted to reduce his payments on $70,000 in student loans only to find out later that was tricked into paying extra fees that did not lower his loan as expected. The company that services the loan, Ameritech and its CEO Brandon Frere, were charged by the FBI for deceptive practices in 2018.
  • Dave Neal took charge of the New Mexico's Pojoaque Valley Schools Capital Advisory Committee and helped obtain $15 million to make much needed renovations. School officials and committee members alike say it wouldn't have ben possible without him.

  • Boxer Robbie Lovato robbed the Bank of Santa Fe and in a plea bargain agreed to serve nine years without the possibility of parole. This occurred only one month following his return to the ring following a previous four year sentence for armed robbery.
  • Bob Martin was named Director of Santa Fe, NM, Lensic Performing Arts Center in 2000 and served for 16 years in the position.
  • Las Vegas Robertson High School athlete Victoria Martinez was named Female Athlete of the Year following here the state titles in track and field.
  • Sylvia Sandoval Ornelas holds her oldest grandchild, Ashley. In her ongoing work for mothers, Sylvia is currently training doulas in Northern New Mexico, to assist pregnant women who speak limited or no English.
